Today's photos
2 weeks and an what an exciting day we have had.
The puppies are now 2 weeks old and what an exciting day they have had, first off they has their first trip out into the garden to get used to the feel of the grass under their paws.
Amber was quiet happy to feed them alfresco and even allowed Fern a closer look as the video hopefully shows.
Once they where safely back indoors on a nice clean blanket having their hour of children's T.V this will get them used to the sound of children's voices which are much higher than adults so they will be getting an hour a day.
Then they had to be weighed and wormed they all took their medicine very well they weighed in like this
Chocolate dog 960g
Pale dog 1.kg
Pink spot bitch 825g
Purple circle bitch 820g
So they are all growing well and are starting to move around the whelping box more and more.
They are now also starting to show their personality which is interesting to watch.

New puppy photos
A bitch puppy
l I am thankful to say that I didn't need a new camera all I needed was a new set of batteries so I am back taking LOTS of pictures of the puppies.
They are 11 days old today and are starting to open their eyes and are a lot more mobile, Amber is starting to leave them for a little while but only after they have been fed cleaned and are all piled up fast asleep. She even had a game with Fern out in the garden.

Second time lucky or not
I am trying to upload the latest video of the puppies but blogger wont let me for some reason. So I have uploaded some more pictures instead.
I am going to try and clip the puppies nails later on as they are just beginning to get sharp and I don't want them scratching Amber while they are feeding.I am also going to put on their collars so that we can tell them apart.
So I will try and get lots more individual photos at the same time for you all.
I have included the latest one of Fern so as that she wont feel to left out, I showed her one of the puppies yesterday while Amber was in the garden attending to a call of nature and she was VERY interested in it but VERY gentle to.

Pictures of Fern
A couple of people have asked me to put some photos of Fern on to the blog so that they can get an idea of what the puppies MAY and I must STRESS that it is only MAY LOOK LIKE as they grow , but EVERY Cockerpoo is different even in THE SAME LITTER. This is due to the cross breeding and to many the unknown quality is what makes cockerpoos SO SPECIAL.
Fern is VERY small (she weighs 5.4 kg and is under 12"tall) for a Cockerpoo and it is very likely that these puppies will be both taller and heavier than she is.

Look at how we have grown
the same time.
The puppies are nearly a week old where has the time gone.
They have grown so much in the last week and are getting more noisy and are moving around in the whelping box a lot more.
Amber is now leaving them for longer periods of time and even wanted to come out for a walk with Ruby and Fern this morning but I had to leave her behind as I knew i was going to be out for a couple of hours which is just to long to leave the puppies at this stage.
I have been doing some on line research on early socialisation of puppies and I was doing most of it any way but it made interesting reading and has LOT'S of information for once you get your puppy home. http://www.openpaw.org

The first 24 hours
Amber has had a great first 24 hours with her new puppies.
She has only left then to go into the garden to go to the loo and that was very reluctantly and she was straight back to them.
I spent the last night on the sofa just to make sure every one was OK, and will probably be spending the next few nights there as well.
Poor Fern is still very bewildered as to where these noisy things that have taken over her Mums time have come from.
I have posted some pictures of Ruby and Fern as I don't want them to feel left out.
This video hopefully shows the puppies having lunch.
